    3. This is very interesting; I had no idea there was a special volume at the Cape Archives for Birth Certificates. I am trying to get my father's but the Home Affairs in Pretoria, where I applied, are not proving very helpful. Please confirm how I would go about getting a Vault Copy. My Dad was born in 1914.Lynette from OZ (McWilliams) > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Date: Fri, 11 Apr 2014 12:19:13 +0200 > Subject: Re: [ZA-EC] Willowmore > > I don't think they will do look-ups as the births are in volumes, not on the > computer system (other documents which are recorded on NAAIRS can be > requested by e-mail and they will post) so I would imagine you may have to > go there in person. > > Antoinette Saunders > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Patty > Myers > Sent: Friday, April 11, 2014 11:26 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [ZA-EC] Willowmore > > Her death was 23 Oct 1931, 35 years so that would make her birth year 1896. > I would imagine that they were Dutch Reformed. 3. Hi Lynette As mentioned in a previous posting, I believe they have copies there (that was my understanding from my experience with trying to get a copy of my Mom's but as she was born less than 100 years ago, it was not possible). I could have misunderstood them completely. I will try and get you the name of someone to contact there to clarify the situation as to whether they can help otherwise you could try e-mailing the contact address on the NAAIRS site under the Cape archives but that could prove frustrating. Regards Antoinette Saunders (I recognise your name from the ex PE 60's, 70's FB page so I am assuming your Dad was born in the Cape) -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Lynette McWilliams Troughton Sent: Saturday, April 12, 2014 8:49 AM To: eastern-cape rootsweb Subject: Re: [ZA-EC] Willowmore This is very interesting; I had no idea there was a special volume at the Cape Archives for Birth Certificates.
