Hi all. This is what I have on my Oliver clan and it may not all be right. I would very much like to know if anyone out there can add to this tree and if anyone knows how these Oliver's originally ended up here in South Africa? Have a look; My dad: Lawrence Henry Oliver born 04.08.1953 in Johannesburg he married my mom Susarra Maria Fourie on 1 Feb 1974 in Carletonville. She was born 14.01.1957 in Thabazimbi and they are divorced. He married Sharon Ann Morton after that and they are also divorced. I have 2 sisters and two half sisters My Grandparents: George William Oliver b.15.07.1928 Potchefstroom Died circa 1988 in South Africa possibly Vryburg Married May Delores Pretorius on 4 March 1950 She was born 17.05.1934 and died 3 March 2006 in Brits They had 5 children Lawrence Henry Oliver Yvonne Delores Oliver, she married a Nel and has two sons Marcus Oliver he is deceased and had no children Carla Yvette Oliver, she married a White, is divorced and has a daughter Cyril George Oliver - this uncle died when I was very young and I have no info on him. His surname might be Stokes. He had two sons, my cousins, whom I've never met but would like to. Their names were Danny and Quintin and their mom was Christine Van Heerden My great grandparents: Her mother was Johanna Catharina Roussouw born 25.06.1901 in Vryburg and died 25.10.1967 in Vryburg She had a stepfather Cyril George Stokes but I don't know who her father was. Would love to find out though I think my granny had a sister called Joyce Krause but I'm not sure I think my great, great grandfathers name was Jacob Roussow My great great grandparents: George Henry Oliver born 03.08.1906 in potchefstroom, died 13.09.1983 and I don't know the wife's name but it might be Elizabeth Berry, I would love to find out her name, she died when her children were very young They had the following children: George William Oliver Edmund Hillary Oliver b 15.02.1930 potchefstroom d.20.07.2006 Parys married to Jacoba Van Zyl, I would like to know if he had children as they would be my dads cousins Benjamin Paul Oliver b. 02.03.1932 Potchefstroom died circa 1972 in Springs. I would like to find out what was his life's tale as he died so young with no wife and kids and he has an unmarked grave, I checked. I think this is a sad tale Then George Henry married again on 15.12.1936 in johannesburg, to Catharina Elizabeth Jansen b.17.10.1914 in Johannesburg d.09.03.2005 in Johannesburg. They had a daughter Kathleen Elizabeth Oliver b.25.07.1937 and she married 31.08.1957 in Melville to Francois Philipus pansegrow Kruger b.03.03.1930 in Brixton and they had Erika Kruger and Pierre Kruger My great great great grandparents; George William Henry Oliver b. 05.03.1857 in George and died 05.04.1948 Johannesburg and married 12.09.1881 in Willowmore to Gertruida Johanna Gericke b.02.06.1864 in George and died 02.11.1947 in potchefstroom, Their children; Ann Oliver ?.. John William Oliver b. 1886 m. 9.7.1912 to Hester Johanna van den Heever, children Mona Helen Gerty Oliver who married Eric rhydowen pryce Davies and Mercia Frances Oliver who married Carl Hendrik esterhuysen and Beatrice Oliver Gertruida Johanna Oliver b 14.03.1888 fauresmith d. 12.03.1970 in Pretoria married 03.07.1911 to Pieter Christian de Jager b.29.01.1878 Wakkerstroom Transvaal they had a child Gertruida Johanna de Jager b. 1932? M. Johannes Pieter Bredell b.28.10.1937 and they had Johannes Pieter Bredell and Christine de Jager Bredell Benjamin Paul Oliver b.25.05.1891 and died about 1970 in Graaf Reinett married 18.12.1918 potchefstroom to Susanna Elizabeth roux b.22.06.1892 langlaagte and died 22.08.1965 in uitenhage Children; Bernard roux Oliver died age 2 in Vereeniging George William Oliver b. 03.06.1920 in Johannesburg married to Jacobus Wahl and they had Benjamin Paul Oliver, Jeanette Oliver, Rina Oliver, George William Oliver and Madeline Oliver Martha Maria Elizabeth Oliver b.19.08.1922 in Johannesburg married Raymond Reeford van der valk John Benjamin Oliver b. 07.04.1926 married in 1948 in Johannesburg to Cecily Kelsall b.18.10.1926 in Barberton died 30.10.1975 in Pretoria and they had Errol Bernard Oliver b.25.08.1949, John Benjamin Oliver b.27.05.1951, Matilda Winifred Oliver b.15.11.1953 and Rene Cecily Oliver b 23.08.1955 George Henry Oliver, (my ancestor, see above) He took a second wife, Johanna Justina Kruger b.29.09.1934 My 4x great grandparent; No info found Possibly George William Oliver married to Mary and possibly living in the port Alfred area?
