Good day all Can anyone please advise where on FamilySearch I can find these records as I am looking for some family members that could have been baptised in the DR Church. I know I have been there before but just cannot find it or has it been removed Kind Regards Darryl Allwright P O Box 166 Grahamstown 6140 Cell: 076-091-2764 Tel: 046-622-8134 (H) Fax: 086-714-0748 Researching: Allwright, Bold, Clayton, Edwards, Eva, Fisher, Gibbens,Gunn, Hulley, Marshall, Openshaw, Retief(B6c6d2e2f11g6h1i1j1), Toerien, Whittal and related families
Hi Darryl, may I join in your appeal for help? My grandmother Wilhelmina Fredricka BOTHA (first names could be spelt differently) was supposedly (Family lore) born in Somerset East in 1883, before official records of births. I have never been able to find any record of her birth. If anyone can help I'd also be very grateful. The Family History Centre in Parktown has some of the films for the DRC registers at Somerset East. (Not all). You should also contact Moyra Joyce on this list - she once helped me out with a copy from the DRC registers. Alternatively you can also contact GISA - they seem to have access to some of the registers as well. Dear Moira Have you tried the Cape Province DRC Baptismal Index for the period 1856-1898 that is at GISA in Stellenbosch?
