In an email from Mike WRIGHT on 19 Feb 2010 he refers to Grace ELLIOTT as the wife of Thomas BRENT when she arrived at the Cape. I an email posted by Marielle on 19 Feb 2010 Grace is referred to as Grace Booth ELLIOTT. Grace did marry a Benjamin BOOTH on 21 Dec 1854. Did Grace revert to her maiden name? Or was there a BOOTH connection further back in her lines? Can anyone please assist. 3. Hi Rod I'd say that it slipped in "accidentally" through misinformation at some stage - some great-auntie got it mixed up on her hand-written tree and that ended up being passed around until it became "fact". Alternatively, it was not unknown in those days for a woman who remarried to be referred to in certain circles or at certain times by both of her married names IF she had children by her first marriage, which she did. Even her gravestone records her first husband's name rather than her second husband!
