    3. A very good afternoon to All, I would be most grateful if any of the readers could assist,or point me in the right direction. I have searched the rootweb.ancestry.com files, either the files relating to the particular year has been withdrawn, or the dates I have used, are incorrect.     3. Hello Malcolm As you live in Cape Town, if you haven't done so already, I suggest you visit the Cape Archives, which is still at the old Roeland Street Prison, I think. You can check on line for references and arrange to view the documents and get copies. Death Notices are very useful as they should name surviving spouses and pre-deceased spouses. Usually the place of marriage is named, sometimes even the date. Wills name spouses too. Estate files, most of which include death notices, often offer much more information about the deceased person's family. Check on line for the references here: http://www.national.archives.gov.za/index.htm click on: Search National Automated Archival Information Retrieval System I suggest you choose the KAB option (for Cape Archives) Type each name on a separate line.
