I know that this inquiry relates primarily to the Gauteng region, but I am posting it here in case it "rings a bell" with somebody. I have been approached by my neighbor, Wallie Conradie for help. According to a birth certificate Wallie's father was born on 29 March 1914 at 33 C Hancock Street, Hospital Hill, Johannesburg. His name is listed as Walter Bowden BLAKE on the birth certificate. His parents were Walter BLAKE, a professional actor of European race born in England and Maude Hannah MARSHALL also of European descent born in England. He was subsequently adopted by Pieter Willem CONRADIE and Anna Susanna CONRADIE on 29 March 1914 and named Walter CONRADIE. Can anybody cast some light on this request? Regards, Dan Daniel
