Good day listers Is there anyone with an Ancestry or similar membership who can do a look up for me? I am looking for records, especially Military, for Herbert Tidby Williamson, born Scotland 17.9.1907. He fought in WW2 with the 3rd Hussars Royal Armoured Corps, a cavalry regiment in the British Army. He was a lieutenant. He was a POW in Japan. Hi Simone, There is not much WWII on Ancestry. A few entries on findmypast. Not your man. He did, apparently, arrive at Southampton on the 29th Sept, 1939 on the Windsor Castle. Gave his UK destination as "J.Tidby, Tunbridge Wells". I leave Scotland's people to you, as it's a "pay-as-you-go" site. Not too expensive if you are looking for only one person who then emigrated. Don't forget he quite probably added "Tidby" after baptism.
