    3. Hi Rod Lilian Mildred Beatrice GOLDSWAIN is a descendent of Jeremiah Goldswain and Eliza Goldswain nee Debnam she married Arthur George WELSH. Her mother was Kate FIENSTEIN and her uncle was David Fienstein ( maybe a Jewish connection to GOLDSWAIN). Vera's grandfather is/was Leo WOLFF and her grandmother is/was Adelaide BEST, this couple being my (maternal) g/grandparents. My grandfather was Claude WOLFF. I do not have any knowledge of GOLDSWAIN or DEBNAM. I have in depth knowledge of the BEST - MIDFORD (Mitford) families going back on the MIDFORD (Mitford) family as far back as the 17th Cen. Extract from Man of Many Facets Atherstone Dr W.G by Nerina Mathie compiled from Dr Atherstone's notebooks. “ On occasion marriage relationships in our family seemed most complicated. Edwin Atherstone ( England) was my Uncle and my Father-in-law.That was simple enough.Ann White was Papa’s niece by marriage and she became his wife. Ann was my first cousin and became my stepmother. To Bliss, Ann was first cousin, stepmother and mother-in-law! The most intricate relationship was that of Papa and Uncle Edward Damant. Uncle Edward was Papa’s brother-in-law as papa had married his sister, Elizabeth Damant. Uncle Edward in marrying Mary Atherstone became Papa’s nephew, as Mary was the daughter of Pap’s brother, Hugh Atherstone. 2. Lynette McWilliams Troughton
    3. Thank you so very much Rod, I am quite excited as I have no information on Vera WOLFF after her father, Bertrim WOLFF, died in March of 1914. So looking forward to hearing from you. Jeremiah GOLDSWAIN and Eliza DEBNAM? Would you know if Jeremiah is the progenitor of his family? > Vera Wolff's grandfather I have as Leo WOLFF, no dates, unfortunately I do have her grandmother's name. I have a note that they are linked to the BEST family. Will dig up my notes and let you know. > > Regards, > > Rod g > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to SOUTH-AFRICA-EASTERN-CAPE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
