    3. Dear David, You should be thankful that the list is still giving you all sorts of advice! Perhaps you should at the very least have the gumption to answer the mails by way of a general E mail to the list? Pehaps you are not reading them as there are too many or have you taken the advice to go to the battom of the page? 3. HI Becky Hear, Hear. David, I understand that getting millions of e-mails is quite daunting but the names sent are very useful to most of us. I was going to post transcriptions on this list but decided better of it and posted mine to my blog as I could then edit any corrections and everyone could then see them, irrespective of where they searched from. All the rest of you, who criticised David, think of how much info comes through on a daily basis. I personally get upwards of a hundred e-mails a day from friends, family and various lists and subscriptions. I too, do not have the time to go through every single e-mail, so I have set up my Outlook to filter emails into different directories and on weekends I go through the ones I haven't read and see what is there. Otherwise I search for whatever names I am looking for and leave the rest for some later stage. For those of you who use your work e-mail for your subscription I suggest you go to gmail, yahoo or hotmail and get a *free* e-mail address, then put all your subscriptions to that e-mail address, you can then access your e-mails whenever and wherever you like. I once worked for a company who monitored every e-mail that came in and we were warned only twice about personal e-mails, then they put a filter on all incoming e-mails preventing personal and joke e-mails. 3. Hi David By now you must be wishing you had never posted your request after receiving such passionate replies from EC subscribers. Please don't take it personally. You appear to be pretty new to the list, having joined at the beginning of this year, so we will forgive you for you for your oversight. This is a very busy list with very helpful subscribers that share the passion of giving. I myself have taken a bit of a sabbatical from the list but once I get going again, there is going to be a flourish of emails that will frustrate you even more. I therefore suggest you unsubscribe from the instant postings and rather subscribe to digest. This runs every 18 hours and not such a strain on your inbox. Please follow this link for more details. http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/intl/ZAF/SOUTH-AFRICA-EASTERN-CAPE. html Just in case EC subscribers rap me over the knuckles for posting in the wee hours of Monday morning, I cannot sleep. Trying to get rid of a frog is keeping me awake. You might think that is too much info David, but EC is really a family. Everyone cares about each other's wellbeing. Enjoy the time spent with us. 3. Without Ellen, David, over the many years she has been transcribing for us ... I wonder where we would all be with our family trees. I personally cannot thank our Ellen enough for all her wonderful assistance with certificates and information she has shared so generously! These are THE forums where we can share all this information at NO COST but if not required we can delete irrelevant info and search later in the Archive .... for us to know the information has been made available keeps us on our toes and itching for Ellen's next posting to bring more enlightenment of our ancestors! Breaking brick walls is what we do and the more transcriptions posted today ... then the more info which is available when Ellen is too busy doing her day to day job ..... Kind regards Paxie -----Original Message----- From: south-africa-eastern-cape-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:south-africa-eastern-cape-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of David Bennett Sent: 02 December 2012 11:57 AM To: south-africa-immigrants-british@rootsweb.com; south-africa-eastern-cape@rootsweb.com Subject: [ZA-EC] ELLEN STANTON - Death Certificates Without seeming to be ungrateful, I have in the past two days received approx. 3. Dear David, YOU have not recived the E mails, the LIST has received them. We cannot thank ELLEN STANTON enough for her efforts through the years in either transcribing or helping to decipher the LDS records! Go to the bottom of this E mail for another option. 3. Normally we only receive two or three per day. But because recent contributions by Ellen have been short ones we have received more. The maximum file size being only 12KB therefore downloads quite quickly. Personally I'm very grateful to Ellen for the wonderful work she is doing and always look forward to her posts with keen interest - thanks Ellen!
