    3. Hi Ellen, Thank you for your reply - now that my dad is deceased, I have no way of finding all the people he dealt with in compiling his records and of course the older generation would not all be around either so I feel I must verify as much information as possible - this is difficult because all the Eastern Cape records are housed in Grahamstown which is about six hours from where I live - we are planning to stay over in December on our way to our daughter's wedding in Cape Town so in the meantime I must get all my information in order so I can utilise the time to good effect. I do not know a THOMAS although WEBB is close enough to WEBBER - I believe the WEBBER family were from Devonshire and had to do with webbing or weaving of fishing nets - perhaps WEBB is from that too. 3. Rod, I'm the compiler & keeper of the Liversage tree, and submitter to the SA Genealogies. Harriett Elizabeth Bond was born Manchester, daughter of Henry Bond & Sarah Elliott. Housemaid for John Stanley and came out in Stanley's Party : "John STANLEY, wife, child under 14 years & 1 woman servant above 18 yrs" I'm not aware of any of her family coming out. Also no Bond events or witnesses wherever the Liversages migrated. The Liversages were double settlers - first to the Cape Colony in 1820 and then to Natal late 1830's. 3. Hi Lists, I am resending this request again as I have not had a response and would love someone to assist me. Thank you. Glynis Subject: SEEKING PATRICIA ALICIA CONSUELA PAPENFUS PARENTS INFO Morning all, I am helping my cousin trace information on her grandparents, Evelyn Antoinette Kenny-Levick (not sure of the spelling) and she had Henry Charles PAPENFUS, but I found on NAAIRS that there was a Henkrik Frederick Major PAPENFUS. We would like to know if KENNY-LEVICK or Le VICK/Le VECK is her Evelyn Antoinette's maiden name. I have searched what I could, but to no avail. Evelyn Antoinette was born 22 March 1902 and died in 1991 in Sabi. Not sure where she was born. Hendrik Frederick PAPENFUS died in 1976 according to NAAIRS. Their daughter Patricia Alicia Consuela PAPENFUS born 1920 and died 2001 in Nelspruit. She married John SANDS, born 1918 in India. Please can you assist with more information on Evelyn and either Henry Charles or Hendrik Frederick. Thank you, Glynis

    1. Re: [ZA-EC] South Africa, Eastern Cape, Estate Files, 1962-2004
    2. Gwyneth Thomas
    3. I have at last received a reply from the Mormons: Thank you for contacting FamilySearch regarding the "South Africa, Eastern Cape, Estate Files, 1962-2004," collection. You are wondering why the images between the years 1967-1972 are no longer available. We went to the collection description and the "Learn More" page to investigate your question. One statement was: "This collection is being published as images become available." However, this does not address the issue of the disappearance of images that were in the collection previously. We checked the FamilySearch Catalog, and no microfilms for these records are listed. That indicates to us that either 1) there are restrictions on the material that you believe you have searched in the past, perhaps restrictions requiring us to remove the later images; or 2) possibly you have confused the records you want to search with other records. We cannot discover any history of records being removed, except that the collection title refers to records that do not exist in the collection. We found another collection that you might also have some interest in, "Probate Records, 1834-1989." The description notes say,"Microreproduction of original manuscripts at Cape Archives Depot, Cape Town, Republic of South Africa. For original wills see: Original wills and testaments, 1923-1948 / Cape Province (South Africa). Supreme Court Text in Afrikaans and English. Deaths and wills reported to the Master of the Supreme Court." The URL for the above is: https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/331262?availability=Family%20History%20Library . If you scroll down to almost the bottom they can be searched alphabetically by surnames and years. Films #1670657, 1670658, 1670659 might help. You can go to the FamilySearch catalog and take a look at the description of them and see if they relate to your search. You can go to a Family History Center near you for individual help, and there you can have free access to Ancestry.com to see if they have those missing years in their collection. You can find the address of a family history center near you at https://familysearch.org . Follow the steps illustrated below: 1. Sign in with your LDS or FamilySearch Account username and password. 2. Copy this URL and paste it into the address bar of your browser: https://familysearch.org/locations/centerlocator . We sincerely hope this will improve your success as you search for your ancestors. Sincerely, FamilySearch Historical Records [email protected] On 11 March 2014 19:46, Gwyneth Thomas <[email protected]> wrote: > *Familysearch.org has removed the Eastern Cape Estate records 1967-1972 > from their site. 3. Hi Alison I have a Doreen WEBER (born STUDD) in my tree. She was the daughter of Anella Isobella Agnes (born ROBERTS in 1880 died 1959) and Lawrence STUDD). Anella was my grandfather's (Alfred BAKER) half sister. The spelling is different from yours (mine is taken from Anella's will which I have a copy of) but thought that it was worth a mention just in case........ I have managed to trace one living relative in South Africa. He confirmed by email that we are related but, unfortunately, said that he was unwilling to help me any further or pass me on to someone in the family who would be willing. I would love to know if Doreen had any children. Kind regards Sandra Coak -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Alison Dicks Sent: 14 March 2014 06:21 To: '[email protected]' Subject: Re: [ZA-EC] Freemantle, George Morning Ellen, I am new to finding family and my father Eric Ronald Webber has compiled a Webber-Stanton family history going back to Robert Webber coming to Grahamstown around 1820's - there were four children and surely there must be some relation between us as there was only 1 Stanton family who came out on the Belle Alliance in 1820. The Webber family married into them in the same generation, three times -two Webber brothers married two Stanton sisters and one sister Naomi married a Webber too - sorry I don't have the names with me at work but I can give you if you want to cross reference. 3. Thanks Jenn I know the one Civil DN was signed by WH GREEN. My concern was that I had the wrong person as when I looked at his papers in 1902 he is still unmarried and resident in New Zealand. Did you take this from his Estate papers?
