Hi there, I'm looking for any info at all on my 3rd grt grandfather John Philip Bartels born "Cape of Good Hope" in 1793. He had 3 wives:  Vergunda (married c1818) Emma Augustina Keyes Eleanor Bible Apparently he also changed his surname from Von Scheliha- something to do with family disgrace. Our Bartels family research seems to stop here so any info at all is appreciated :) Cheers, Chris.
