Dear Roots The first Viljoen who came to South Africa, Francois Villion, later Viljoen, hailed from Clermont in France. There are three villages/towns called Clermont in France. - does anyone know which one? He was not the first French Huguenot refugee as is often stated, but came to South Africa in 1671, long before the mass migration from France in the 1680s. Thanks Adinda Nel Adinda.Nel@gmail.com
