Hi Carol, I'm probably as confused as you are! So I'll try and explain. I'm in the UK and am trying to trace a relative who emigrated to Rhodesia about +/- 1900. I found a death entry in the Capetown archives, and info on that site suggested that I should join Rootsweb-South Africa, and that to do so I should simply send my name and email to the link they gave - so I did what I thought they meant. So, where do you fit in, and where do I go from here? I think this website is a forum as I was searching in a similar way to Chris, and I did get some help about my great grandfather who worked in south africa...people read your enquiry and suggest ways to help if they know of any, so go on the website and put on the details of the relative you are researching...I think you should have agreed to subscribe (fortunately its free!)...it does mean you get apparently random emails though!
