    3. Thank you Heather. Can well understand the issue of headstones now being illegible. The only suggestion re church would be St George's in Cape Town as other baptisms and previously the parents' wedding were conducted/recorded there. A scan of the Eastern Province Herald of 1842 records her baptism but can't find later copies which may record a death (if it was even noted). We show that Richard Humphries and his family were sponsored to come from England to South Africa by James Stanton reported to be a cousin, in 1826. Can anyone tell me how these two are related?
