I am also searching for information on the ship that William John Herivel, his wife Mary Ann nee WARNER travelled from Alderney Channel Islands (more likely from England) to South Africa possibly c1859 as one child is said to have been born on board then. They lived 84 Caledon St Cape Town South Africa 1859. Occupation was storeman. In 1862 he appears to have been insolvent. Three children were born Alderney Channel Is. One on board ship. Three Cape Colony SA and four in NZ. In 1864/65 several ships traveled from Cape Colony to Auckland New Zealand and were part of the Waikato (NZ) Immigration scheme. The Herivels were on the Reiherstieg leaving Cape Colony Oct 1864 and arrived on 25 Dec 1864. The other ships were Alfred, Eveline, Steinwaerder and the Maori.
