    3. Hi Garry It could have been at St Johns in Cape Town, St. Mary's Cathedral, Lutheran Church, NG Kerk, Methodist Church, Union Congregational Church to mention a few. Not every persons death were recorded I found numerous non- conformists in my family which really puts a spoke in the wheel. Death registers only became compulsory in 1895 in the Cape which is another problem. There could however have been a mention in the Government Gazette of the time as many marriages, baptisms and deaths were mentioned in the weekly editions. Unfortunately tracing ones family tree can never been done in a few weeks. I have been at it for 25 years and still have unfound death records or baptisms records. My husband still does not comprehend why I do it. Hopefully over time as more and more records are digitised these skeletons will creep out of the woodwork. Can well understand the issue of headstones now being illegible. The only suggestion re church would be St George's in Cape Town as other baptisms and previously the parents' wedding were conducted/recorded there. A scan of the Eastern Province Herald of 1842 records her baptism but can't find later copies which may record a death (if it was even noted).
