Dear Listers I believe the Louis GOLDSCHMIDT below to be my 3rd grandfather as I've been given a copy of the register of baptisms solemnized at St. Peter's Church, East London indicating that Louis was a constable when his first child, Susanna Jane, was born on 19/12/1858 as well as when his seventh child, my 2nd great grandfather, Henry Charles, was born on 08/04/1870. I believe the sponsors - William, Jane & Eliza GAFFNEY - to be the siblings/family of my 3rd great grandmother, Jane GAFFNEY, who were aboard 'The Vocalist' in Jan 1859 per Esme BULL's book 'Aided Immigration from Britain to South Africa 1857 - 1867'. Louis married Jane soon after she disembarked The Lady Kennaway. Does anyone have access to the below-mentioned book who could possibly do a look-up for me please?
