HI Dorothea Depending when and where the person died will depend on whether or not the index is available or not. If he died in 1963 then his estate papers will be in the Master of the High Court in Cape Town. There is no index available for that year on the internet so one would have to go in personally or pay a private researcher. There are NO estate papers or death notices available to the public except the few that have been digitised by Ancestry24 and the Genealogical Society of South Africa and lately the Free State death notices at https://familysearch.org/search/collection/show#uri=http://familysearch.org/searchapi/search/collection/1407787 .
