Relict is the word used in more formal old English meaning widow. Joseph's son Griffin and son John were christened at St Mary's Lambeth, Surrey so where he died we have no idea. His widow Mary had a child by Molesworth in Ireland in 1816. On Mary's gravestone are the words "relict of Deputy Assistant Commissary General Trueman" whatever that may mean. Hopefully that narrows the search a bit.
