Did you know..... that Park Sir Maitland Hall (1862-1921).a South African newspaper editor. Born in Dunbartonshire and educated at Glasgow University, he started writing for the Glasgow Herald in 1885. In 1886 he went to India as assistant editor, and later editor, of the Allahabad Pioneer, in which were printed many of Rudyard Kipling's early writings. In 1902 he carne to South Africa as editor of the Cape Times, and in 1909 joined the South African delegation to the Imperial Press Conference in London, where he exercised great political influence.
