    1. CROCKETTs in Wynberg and Paarl Churches

    3. Hi Everyone Your help in my search for my CROCKETT relations has led me to Wynberg and Paarl. With Maureen's help I now know that the wife of EDWARD CHARLES CROCKETT, who was called SUSANNA MARIA GIRD, was born in Wynberg on 28 Feb 1835 and that her three younger siblings were born in Paarl. I have looked up these two places on the IGI to see if there are any micro films of the church records available, but there are none for the Anglican (is it Episcopal in South Africa?) church. My question are: 1. Is there an Anglican church in Wynberg and Paarl? If so is it possible to get access to the church records? Can I write to the vicar? 2. Would these churches have been around in about 1850? If not where would they have gone to get married and have their children baptised. Would they have gone to Cape Town cathedral? I'm sorry but my geography is very sketchy and this may be a silly question. 3. What I am now trying to find is the record of Edward Crockett's marriage to Susanna and I am hoping that it might be in one of these two places. best wishes Peter Forrest Newcastle upon Tyne, England
