We've just discovered a maternal side ancestor c1810 rejoicing in the name ROBERT MOP MORG KOCK. Anyone know if Mop and Morg are names, nicknames, any sort of clue to anything? Go well! Ivy Trott.
Hi Ivy How sure are you of the spelling of these strange names? I was wondering if the Mop might not be MOL? Also, I have seen the name MONG in the 1805 Cape Almanac as an official at the Cape of Good Hope - he is a Frederick MONG who was a 'Bode' in the Drosdty of Tulbagh.
