    3. Hi Derrick, I am unable to help with regard to Kimberley Regiment. However, I have been looking at sites regarding South West Africa (Namibia) recently. I suggest you take a look at http://www.klausdierks.com/ I was reading some of the Namibia Biographies. If you click on this link you will find a Carel Frederik BRINK, a land surveyor from the Cape Colony in 1761. Very interesting reading. There is also a Chronology of Namibian History. National Museum of Namibia can be found at http://institutions.africadatabase.org/data/i129809.html If you fo a 'google' search for 'namibia + history + kimberley' there is a pdf that can be downloaded. Perhaps some of the information found here will be of help. 3. Derrick, Kim R took part in the German South West Africa Campaign in 1914-5. A good book is 'Urgent Imperial Service - SA Forces in GSWA 1914-1915 by Gerald L'Ange' ISBN 1 874800 22 7 Ashanti Publishers 1991. No idea of the address or teleno but the McGregor museum in Kimberley would be a good place to start on the history of the Kimberley Rifles. Good luck, David B Hi Derrick, I am unable to help with regard to Kimberley Regiment. However, I have been looking at sites regarding South West Africa (Namibia) recently. 3. Hi Derrick, I would suggest contacting the Military Archives in Pretoria who have all the records of South African soldiers who fought in the two World Wars. Each Service Record shows exactly where the soldier and regiment were deployed giving dates of deployment and other details such as conduct and illnesses. These records should give you a very good idea of your grandfather's movements. The staff at this Archive are extremely helpful but there is a limit to the research that they will perform on your behalf. I can, however, refer you to a researcher who specializes in these records. Wishing you much success with your further research, Paul Cheifitz > From: roan_luan@yahoo.co.uk > To: SOUTH-AFRICA-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Kimberley Regiment > > My grandfather, Andries (Andrew) Brink served in the Kimberley Regiment > from 6.10.1914 to 13.8.1915 which was part of the 7th South African > Infantry, thereafter he was in the S.A.V.R.
