I would be grateful if any lister could lookup SA records, e.g.contemporary newspapers, or Port shipping details for arrival/departure of the Brig "Anne" ex Rio (7.3.1829) to Hobart (3.6.1829). It was said to have "spent a week in South Africa, provisioning.." I can find no record in Lloyd's List. Frank M. Canberra
Hello Frank Shipping info can be hard to come by - there are some details in the Cape of Good Hope Government Gazette housed at the Cape Town Archives. Someone would have to go through them for you and that is quite a mission. Alternatively you can contact the Archives directly. The contact details can be found on their website http://www.national.archives.gov.za/index.htm and you would email the Cape Town Archives.
