Greetings all, I am researching part of my family tree (pedigree and not a ONS) Sydney James BOND (my g.grandfather) Born 1887 Died 1940 Resident in Cape Town in the Rondebosch, Claremont, Observatory area. Married Florence Edith WILLIAMS in 1913 She died in 1937 Any information will be gratefully received. An interesting point is the different spelling of Sydney (as in Oz.) Also does anyone know if the graveyards in Cape Town have been transcribed anywhere (memorial inscriptions) ? Many thanks Regards David Cowie

I have a grandfather, Sydney Walter Hudson born Cape Town, c1886. That spelling of Sydney may have been common at the time. If anyone has a Sydney Walter HUDSON b. c1886 or a Lavinia POWELL b. c1887 both presumably born in Cape Town (according to records in Australia), I would be most interested. I have no records prior to their arrival in Australia in 1908.
