    1. [SOUTH-AFRICA-CAPE-TOWN] John Brown and Jemima Bagshaw
    2. Bernard Brown
    3. Hello   I have hit the proverbial brick wall and am hoping some kind person can shed some light on the problem.   My great great grandfather was John Brown (I have no birth, death or any other data on him). He married Jemima Ann Bagshaw on 30 September 1844, at St Georges Anglican Church in Cape Town.   Jemima Bagshaw was born on 17 June 1827. At the time of Jemima’s birth, the Bagshaws lived on Lemon Street, Stepney, London, England. She was baptized at St Mary Whitechapel, on 4 July 1827. She died on 29 June 1876 and is buried in Port Elizabeth (St Mary’s Cemetery, South End). She had remarried, and at the time of her death, her surname was Fenton.   I am hoping that someone can shed more light on John Brown, dates of birth/death, parents, siblings, etc.   I was told when I was very young that the family name was originally Le Brun, and that Le Brun had come from Paris, France. Could it be that John Brown’s father was Le Brun?   Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Bernard Brown Dallas, Texas
