Hello   I am hoping some kind souls can help.   I’m searching for information on the children and descendants of James Peter Brown (b. 1849 d. 1910) and Johanna Rosina Christiana Timmerman (b. 1851 d. 1904). Both James and Johanna were born in Cape Town.   Their children’s names were: George Peter Brown, Maggie Nesbit (nee Brown), Rachel Thobbs (nee Brown), Robert Norman Brown, William Brown, John Peter Timmerman Brown (b.1868), James Henry Brown (b.1871 d.1938) and Edward Peter Brown (b.1889 d.1932). They were all born in Cape Town.   James Henry Brown was my grandfather and I have his information, so it is the other children that I am particularly interested in getting more information on.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Bernard Brown Dallas, Texas

Bernard Not sure if this information will help you : BROWN -- a fairly common name and spread all over South Africa . I knew a Brown family in Port Elizabeth whose parents had emigrated from UK : Peter Brown (forget wifes name) , had 3 sons if I remember correctly (Craig , David , XXX) Believe they are still in the Prt Elizabeth area . TIMMERMAN -- I was at school in Durban with a Timmerman (Howard ???) . Ancestors I believe were Dutch . As far as I know they are still in Durban but have not seen or spoken in 20+yrs .
