    3. I've recently discovered that my husband's g grandfather lived in Gibbon's Cottages, off Victoria Road, Woodstock. I found this snippet of information comes from the 1891 Cape Almanac. His name was Robert WATERS, and he was a carpenter. He died in 1893 (aged about 41/42), - I know he featured in the 1881 Scottish Census, so he obviously came to SA after 1881, and only had a short life in Cape Town. I've googled Gibbon's Cottages etc but have come up with nothing, so I presume they no longer exist. Can anyone shed any light on the area in the 1880s and 1890s? WATERS is my huge brick wall at the moment so any information of any kind would be most gratefully appreciated. Best wishes, Rose
