Hi Everyone, I am trying to trace the Barkway family line from cape town. I am looking for any info on a Charles Barkway, Charles married a Jean and then a Jenny. May Rita Barkway and Charles Barkway were brother and sister, May was born in 1903 and I am not sure if they had any other siblings. I am trying to find their parents and if their parents came from the UK to Wynberg in Cape Town. I know that Charles lived in what is now known as the Kingsbury Hospital in Claremont once upon a time. Regards, Storm This message is private and confidential. Hi! Don't know if there is a connection but I knew a Harry Barkway who had a wife called Marge and they had one son Trevor. Harry had a brother, younger I think who was called Charles (Charlie). Both were very colourful characters. Harry served in the Tank corp in N Africa and Italy in WW11 (lied about age) with the SA forces. Charles went all over the place the UK, America and Canada before returning to SA, he had been married but when I knew him he was single again. Harry and Charles would have to have been a generation after the specific Charles you are looking for, but it is not a common name. so ther might be a connection, and now that I think of it I seem to recall an Aunt who visited Harry now and again a lovely real grand Dame of the old order. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Storm O'Neill" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, September 28, 2010 2:01 PM Subject: [SOUTH-AFRICA-CAPE-TOWN] (no subject) > Hi Everyone, > > I am trying to trace the Barkway family line from cape town.
