    3. Hi Listers, Looking for info on my grgrgrandmother Sarah DODDS. In the book 'Karoo' ch 6 it talks about the flood of February 27, 1871 that hit the town of Victoria West - When the water struck the village, Rainie Dodds, the belle of Victoria West, was trying on her wedding dress. The house collapsed, her spine was injured by falling bricks, and very soon she died. People on the lower side called to Ferguson to throw a rope across. With the aid of this rope Mrs. Dodds and six people from her house reached safety, leaving the body of poor Rainie to the flood. If anybody has more information about the DODDS family - ancestors or descendants, I would love to hear more about it - I didn't know that I had such interesting items in the family tree ! Best wishes to all, Sylvia
