    3. Could someone tell me if it was 'common' or in the realm of possibility, that a man would have two children given the same name, by two different women and both living? In trying to understand the OBERHOLSTER/HARTOG relationship, I know that there was a Johanna Barbara Oberholster born to Jan Oberholster and Helen de Toit, in abt 1713. Prior to this date, there was apparently a daughter born to Jan Oberholster and Agnitie Colyn also named Barbara Oberholster, somewhere about 1706 or so. Oberholster and Colyn were not married and she was the daughter of freed slaves as far as I have read. Barbara Oberholster shows up married to Paulus Hartog in 1827 and Johanna Barbara Oberholster shows up married to someone else. I am interested in the Oberholster/Hartog relationship but I admit to being confused as to the same name being used for both living girls to the same man. There is not any hard data that I can find for Barbara daughter of Agnitie Colyn but Barbara, daughter of Helen de Toit was christened in 1713 and I am trying to confirm that these were two different people. Thanks, Sharon
