    3. Hello everyone I am determined to find information on Catherine Elliott. I have tried to find her marriage certificate without success ( I have tried Kimberley and Bloemfontein as this is a possibility but I am beginning to think that her records have been lost) . She emigrated to Australia from SA so Naairs does not have a death certificate that I can find. I am now trying to find a birth certificate. I have read all the articles telling me how difficult this is but I have so little to go on that I am going to try this route anyway. Although she married Lauritz Emil Nielsen who was a Roman Catholic she may have been christened as a Methodist or an Anglican (or even Dutch Reformed - but I will leave DR till later). Recently I requested a look up at St George's Cathedral and I got the reply below. However I don't know what to do now i.e. I don't know how to locate the film number given. Can anyone help. PLEASE! I know it is a long shot but I want to try everything I can and I know that She went to Kimberley in 1882 and left Kimberley in 1892 and lived in Cape Town. What I don't know is where she came from before going to Kimberley otherwise I could be more specific in my search. I have a record which tells me she was born somewhere in SA. Since there was just about nothing in Kimberley in 1882 I doubt that she was born in Kimberley but I may be wrong. Any advice??? Vivienne To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, June 30, 2010 6:37 PM Subject: St. George's Cathedral: Christenings LOOK-UP Hello Delyse I was wondering if you could do a look-up for the following: Catherine ELLIOTT born 1862 - her parents were Edgar Alexander ELLIOTT and Catherine ELLIOTT (maiden name SOLOMON). If you come across any other christenings with the above parents please let me know. Thank you Vivienne The reply from St George's Hello, I'm afraid the look ups stop at the end of 1829, and I found no Elliotts prior to then. Civil christenings from 3/1/1849 to 5/6/1870 are available on film 1295052, at the end of the film, which is at the Latter Day Saints (Mormons), Exhibition Rd., London SW7. Best wishes, Charlie Fison.

    3. Yipeee!!! This is one of mine... This is a Glen Avon HART grave!!.Most helpful as we didn't have a date of death for him nor did we have a wife for him. Will have to go digging now as we also know they had children and grandchildre. It is interesting because we had a Cremation for him. Perhaps his wife didn't want to be cremated. I have his Cremation (doesn't say where it took place). Sidney Reginald HART - died 1968 aged 69 Cremation No. 1708. Register Page BK2-037 Headstone has a Moth Emblem so he must be an ex-serviceman...my dad was a member of the 'Memorable Order of the Tin Hat' (I think that's what the full title was...if I have this wrong please would someone give me the correct full name...it's not in my Woordebook and not in the English Dictionary I tried. Please could I ask listers if they know when this couple were married, and where and where were they married and the place of birth and death for each of them to add to the dates so beautifully provided (hoare frost and all) Sunelia, please may I know which cemetery this photograph was taken in. It's a lovely photograph with all the hoarfrost around. It must have been very chilly! I'm jumping with excitement at having so much more information. I have his parents as Sidney Lawrence HART and Agnes Margaret SHERIDAN His grandparents were Stephanus Jacobus HART and Mary Jane COTTINGHAM ( His great grandparents were Robert HART & Johanna Christina MEINTJIES Love, Tombi Peck ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message.
