This is what I know. John KNIPE b 1872 Frizington, Cumberland died 10 Nov 1907 Langlaagte buried Braamfontein Cemetary. This date comes from his gravestone, and from the family gravestone in St Pauls Frizington. There was no estate on NASA. Where would I start looking for a death notice. He came to South Africa in 1892 and was a carpenter. Ellen has provided me with a marriage cert dated 7 Dec 1929 of an Olive KNIPE [24] b SA who married James ?orenlock FINDLAY [27] b Scotland and one of the witnesses was an E KNIPE. And from my mother; John [Jack] KNIPE married Nellie [maybe Eleanor??]in South Africa and had 2 daughters. [They actually had 3] Catherine [Sissy] KNIPE who married a MYNHARDT and in 1991 was still living in Kensington Jhb. They had two children. Olive KNIPE b abt 1905 who married a James FINDLAY in 1929. Hannah KNIPE was born in 1908 and died age 7 ½ mths on 4 Nov 1908. Up to now I have relied on “family docs” so any ideas where to start looking for the marriage, bap etc of this family? Thank you- Bev
