My name is Richard I live on the west coast of Canada. I am trying to trace my maternal great grandparents - George PERKINS and Martha OXENHAM in South Africa from post 1920,s Sussex, England. George and Martha travelled to Johannasburg SA aprox 1920, and stayed in SA for the rest of their life. My parents and grand parents moved to SA 1947, I was born there in Johannesburg, left when I was two. George was a blacksmith/farrier in Sussex, I have no Idea what he did in SA, or Martha for that matter. In the family it is rumered that he took other family with him, I do know that he left his married daughter Louisa, and youngest son John in England. I have no idea were to start in South Africa so any and all help most appreciated. Richard of Abbotsford.
Hi Richard This could be the deceased estate file of George in 1951: http://www.national.archsrch.gov.za/sm300cv/smws/sm30ddf0?201401192024478E4F 8C63&DN=00000001 If so a researcher would be able to look at the Death Notice on the file and give you family information from it.
