    3. How should I get to know where these marriages records for 1900-1905 are and to go through the 1901/2 years even manually if necessary ?. B.S. Subject: St. Mary the Less Anglican Marriages [!!!]: Hello: [Johannesburg, Jeppestown, St Mary the Less]: For these online familysearch.org images, it has [Marriages 1894-1899] and then [Marriages 1906-1913]. Any idea what happened to the marriages 1900-1905 ?. This is the range I need to view. B.S. =========================

    3. Would this be ALL Anglican records from all over South Africa???? I am trying to find out where and when my GGgrandfather married,..if he ever made an honest woman of my GGgrandmother with whom he had already had seven children with.by the time his first wife passed away in 1882...went on to have a further seven ...poor woman!!! They did not marry in his hometown where he was quite a prominent figure so I suppose that would account for it...so far ...I have come up with nothing at all!!! A lady from the Anglican church in Prince Albert told me I might find it in the University of Jo`Burg so possibly it is the Witwatersrand.. How do I go about getting someone to look at the records for me etc?? Would be wonderful if I came up with something ...at last.!!! Tomi ,we did correspond a while back...we are connected by the STRETCH`s. Many, but not all, Angican church records are housed at the library of the University of the Witwatersrand, William Cullen Library. The baptism, marriage and burial records have been filmed by the LDS, but I don't know if they have been indexed yet. -- Keep well, Steve Hayes Blog: http://hayesgreene.wordpress.com Web: http://www.khanya.org.za/famhist1.htm E-mail: [email protected]

    3. Bear in mind that the Boer War was on 1899-1901 - many churches had limited or no operations in that time and it is possible that St Mary the Less in Jeppestown was one of those churches. It would be worth your while to have a look at the St Mary Anglican Church in Johannesburg - there are marriages recorded in that church during that time frame. Many of the Anglican (Church of the Province) Registers are online on the familysearch site. Just for your guidance Christchurch Anglican in Fordsburg had a gap in the marriages (same register) from 26 Jul 1899 to 1 Sep 1902 - during that time no marriages were performed. No baptisms were performed there between 1 Oct 1899 - 18 May 1902 -----Original Message----- From: BAZDER [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 10 February 2014 10:17 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [SOUTH-AFRICA] St. Mary the Less Anglican Marriages [!!!] Would this be ALL Anglican records from all over South Africa????
