Hi Folks Just a thought and to save the finger nails Do you have anyone in the UK that you could get any future certificates sent to, who could then scan or photograph and send to you by email, at the end of the day the information is the prime thing, the certificate is nice for record but otherwise adds nothing (the person in the UK could always send it on after scan and emailing the contents) There are services that do that already but charge a large premium for doing so (Ancestry for example who charge over double for the same certificate) Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 01/04/2015 08:06, Bev via wrote: > YES -our side is to blame-ordered from the Preston RO[they sent them end of > Jan-and I am still waiting!] and had to get them resent to a UK address!!!!! > Bev > > Has anyone had any luck in the past 3 months ordering from the General > Register Office in the UK. > I ordered a document in January, on the 15 March, after I queried it , I > received an e-mail saying they would re-process my application, yet to-date > I still have not received anything. > I am thinking this is due to our POSTAL SERVICE ?? > Regards > Barbara
I have ordered certificates for overseas relatives and emailed the details. I do find the GRO are quicker and cheaper than local registry offices. pauline alden 13 swann street York YO23 1AF -----Original Message----- From: south-africa-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:south-africa-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Nivard Ovington via Sent: 01 April 2015 10:41 To: south-africa@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SOUTH-AFRICA] Ordering documents from the GRO UK Hi Folks Just a thought and to save the finger nails Do you have anyone in the UK that you could get any future certificates sent to, who could then scan or photograph and send to you by email, at the end of the day the information is the prime thing, the certificate is nice for record but otherwise adds nothing (the person in the UK could always send it on after scan and emailing the contents) There are services that do that already but charge a large premium for doing so (Ancestry for example who charge over double for the same certificate) Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 01/04/2015 08:06, Bev via wrote: > YES -our side is to blame-ordered from the Preston RO[they sent them end of > Jan-and I am still waiting!] and had to get them resent to a UK address!!!!! > Regards > Barbara ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to SOUTH-AFRICA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. http://www.avast.com
