Hi Sue, Please excuse my ignorance if I intrude in this discussion but can I ask for your help? Although my gr-grandfather Dr. James Gibson came to South Africa only in 1857 via Port natal and not a settler he died in Grahamstown in 1872 and I did not manage to get any additional information of the family in Grahamstown and will be grateful if you could let me know if you find anything when you reach that date?
