The original three de Villiers brothers who came out on the ship Zion, which sailed 8 Jan 1689 from Holland, were Pierre de Villiers, Abraham de Villiers (He had daughters, no son) and Jacob (Jacques) de Villiers, all three brothers born near la Rochelie, and all three came with significant knowledge of wine farming. Pierre and Jacob had lots of kids and have lots of descendants, as you well know:-) My line is from Pierre de Villiers. My ex is grandson of chief justice Sir Etienne de VIlliers, in this line. Oddly I have more information on the Jacob line, very little for Pierre. There must be people who have done a lot of research already though. Perhaps you have already done much?
