    3. I am happy to announce that an in-depth article written by myself and fellow genealogist Jaco Strauss about the (previously) controversial origins of the South African JONKER progenitor has just been published in the GGSA publication Familia [52] 2015-2. We believe the debate around Adolph Jonker's origins has now been settled once and for all by the facts presented in this article. We spent a lot of time and effort doing rigorous documentary research, we also analysed the DNA profiles of two separate lines of descent from Adolph Jonker and came to the following conclusions: . Adolph Jonker was of Indonesian descent in his paternal line . Adolph Jonker was the son of free slaves Jonker van Makassar and Rosetta van Java . Jonker van Makassar was not the same person as the so-called Prince of Ternate, as previously alleged. An English summary of our article is available on the Stamouers website at http://www.stamouers.com/index.php/stamouers/surnames-h-to-j/231-jonker-adol ph Kind regards, Martina Louw.
