Dear Listers, I wonder whether anyone is able to enlighten me on the emi/immigration (Britain to South Africa) of my Great-Grandfather, JOHN EASTTY DICKERSON? His father, THOMAS GOOSE DICKERSON, departed Britain with his 2nd wife & some of his children in Sept 1861, but I can't find any evidence of John Eastty Dickerson's departure. JE's father & family landed in the Eastern Cape, so I'm presuming that he also arrived in South Africa in that region. JE was living & working in Kimberley, Northern Cape when my Grandmother was born in 1888. The story goes that he also died there, a few years later. I'd be most grateful for any info that you're able to offer. Thanks very much. Kind regards, Heather Huebsch Hall.
