Hello Keith, KM> He is in Colenbrander's "De Afkomst de Boeren" (p. 40) as KM> 1717; Jochem Koekemoer; Duitschland(?) KM> which is clearly a guess based on his marriage record. Maybe, but I can't find any marriage record in the Cape Town or Stellenbosch or Drakenstein (dating only from 1717) marriage registers for Jochem Koekemoer and Maria Putters. The marriage most probably took place around 1715 (given the baptism date of their first child) and in the Drakenstein(Paarl) church (since it cannot be found in Cape Town or Stellenbosch) and also since Maria Putters' mother and stepfather were living in Drakenstein from 1714 onwards, http://www.ballfamilyrecords.co.uk/kfp/I064.html but the Drakenstein marriage records prior to 1717 have been missing since the early 18th century, as I understand it.
