Hello HJ Well - I'm a new replier. SA doesn't do online BMD. Considering the year of death - you can look at NAAIRS - http://www.national.archsrch.gov.za/sm300cv/smws/sm300gi?201108030658377EFD1 182%26DB%3DRSAE I searched for David Hughes 1932 to 1935 and found 3 possibilities - all in the national archives in Pretoria (DEPOT TAB) - not sure where you live but if you cannot go to the archives - you will have to commission a researcher to transcribe/photograph the documents for you. If one of these is your relative - you may well get some useful info from the file to continue with. Good Luck and regards Michele Cocker 1. *** DEPOT TAB SOURCE MHG TYPE LEER VOLUME_NO 0 SYSTEM 01 REFERENCE 91266 PART 1 DESCRIPTION HUGHES, DAVID. Where can I find BMD's in S.A., online please? David Hughes, born 1879 in Carmarthenshire, Wales, died in South Africa in 1934. All I know is that it was probably in a road accident when he was working "away" from his family. I think he had 4/5 children, one of whom was Mabel Hughes. Unfortunately that's all the info. I have, except that he probably went to S.A. during the Boer War & didn't return home. any info. gladly received.
