My husband is a Military history boff. He doesn't know (sounds funny in retrospect doesn't it?) but he has posted a question on several of his war forums. So if no-one else on the mailing list can help - you do have a bunch of war boff's on it for you. Good day Does anyone know what the abbreviation 'ACP' stands for in a military context? It pops up on the BCCD website (British Concentration Camps of the South African War 1900-1902): http://www.lib.uct.ac.za/mss/bccd/ Examples where used: . Reason departure : transferred ACP Town . Reason departure: returned home, ACP Fordsburg. . Reason departure: gone to live per ACP. Destination: Johannesburg. . Reason departure: to town, per ACP. Also of interest is that the some wives of the POW's are listed in the searchable database under the names of their husbands (e.g. Mrs Joe Bloggs). If you google "ACP military term" you get some 45 possibilities; None of them seem to refer to concentration camps so your guess is as good as mine.
