A newly found cousin who lives in Australia has told me her father enlisted in the SAAF during the 2nd World War.army record. The information I'm looking for is of my first cousin, Gerald Robert Irwin DEES born 9th January 1925 'Rietfontein', Tarlton, Transvaal died 4th June 2001 U.K. I imagine he couldn't have enlisted until he turned 18 in 1943. I would be 'maternally' grateful (sorry, one of my mother's 'funnies') if any of you could help me with this! I'd always felt sorry for my grandmother having to worry about 3 sons in the services, I hadn't realised that she also had to worry about a grandson as well!! Best wishes, Tombi Peck ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to SOUTH-AFRICA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
