Of course you know my primary interest is her subsequent marriage to Johannes Petrus Meintjes. Who were her parents? She is not in de Villiers / Pama nor in SA Genealogies for Erasmus. I looked at Barry Kruger's CD on the Kruger family, where he says her parents were Joseph (sic) Erasmus and Sara de Klerk. Barry does list the witnesses at the baptisms of her children with Kruger, but I could not reconcile, with sufficient confidence in my own mind, the families. Hence, my question. Magdalena Catharina Erasmus is for some inexplicable reason not mentioned in De Vil/Pama, but in SAG Volume 5 p 514 she is listed as the wife of Johannes Petrus Meintjes (b4c3) married on 12 May 1747 as the widow of Frans Kruger. Magdalena Catharina's father was Jacob Erasmus (b6) * 8 March 1710. He first married Hester (Martha) Pienaar and thereafter Sara de Klerk (le Clerq), the mother of Magdalena Catharina. Sara was the daughter of Abraham le Clerq (hugenoot from Seroosterkerke, Walcheren Eiland in Netherlands) where he was bap on 11 Oct 1671 and Madeleine (Madelon, Magdalena) Mouton. Sara Erasmua (de Klerk) again married after the daeth of Jacobus Erasmus to Sybrand van Dyk. Lastly, some sources refer to Jacob Erasmus as Joseph, the reason for which is not clear.
