Well, let me see. Meintjes has English and Afrikaans-speaking members. Some in the Cape were in the British administration, some were politicians in the ZAR (Transvaal). There is a large coloured branch of the family. Some of my family was interned (and died) in the camps, other seem to have aided in running them. A great-uncle served in the British army in South Africa. A distant Scottish cousin Powrie was killed at Magersfontein. I suppose I am on all sides of the argument.
