Hi, Nolene. "Overberg Origins" was published in 1988. It says it "aims to record the stamvaders and descendants of those families in this old town who were not included by C.C. de Villiers in his genealogical classic ..." Here is a list of the families included in "Overberg Origins": Barry Burrows Carncross Devenish Emett Hodgson Hopley Kennedy Moodie Reid Reitz Robertson Schreiner Sutton Tilney Whyte It looks like we do not have any of your people. But, I must say, for those included, the genealogies are quite nice. I have the following "English" families in my direct line who were based in SWELLENDAM DAVIES - Thomas & Sophia (CHILDS)from London - arrived circa 1826 - 1828 - My direct line is Francis DAVIES, Thomas's son who married Catharina LAMBERT. LAMBERT (Irish origin) - William & Johanna (CLARK) - I have never been able to find baptisms for any of their children - I think they may have been Catholic? Related names (not my direct line) in Swellendam are: SMITH GARDNER KELLY Any bits of info on these name will be greatly appreciated.
