    3. Dear Barbara As Peter has stated, there is no DN to be found. You can try browsing through all 509 pages of Death Certificates for the district of Umtali in 1962, found here: https://www.familysearch.org/search/image/show#uri=https%3A//api.familysearch.org/records/waypoint/7118585 Good luck! 3. Russell, just for interest and as a test, I looked at one of the early records in the "Umtali" series of a Joan Harris and made a note of her date of death and also saw that the cause was "died in a vehicle accident on the Inyanga road". It was written up by hand. I then looked under the overall volumes organized by alphabetical order and did a search for Joan Harris. A similar record stating the same date of death and by car accident on the Inyanga road was recorded on a differently numbered death notice but in this case it was a type-written report. I have not checked for any others. By the way I am from Umtali (Mutare) originally and left there in 1998 and now living inGaborone, Botswana cheers Pete Whitfield

    3. Dear Pete Is Zvishanvane a part of Bulawayo? Also, what district in the Zimbabwean Death Notice section would correspond to Masvingo? 3. Hi Russell it appears that Jean, Lynn and Andrew have answered your queries while I was examining the back of my eyelids for the last few hours. Thank you to them. It's just so sad that the West has let Mugabe and his vermin get away with mass murder and crimes against humanity for so long but yet jump immediately into trouble spots like Libya purely because they have no oil. I believe it has more to do with a guilty conscience about those years of slavery. cheers Pete On 5 April 2011 01:57, Russell <rpcdoc@shaw.ca> wrote: > Dear Pete > > Is Zvishanvane a part of Bulawayo? > > Also, what district in the Zimbabwean Death Notice section would correspond > to Masvingo? > > Thanks > > Russell > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Pete Whitfield" <pelejab@gmail.com> > To: <south-africa@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Monday, April 04, 2011 12:09 PM > Subject: Re: [SOUTH-AFRICA] Zimbabwe DN > > > > Russell, > > > > just for interest and as a test, I looked at one of the early records in > > the > > "Umtali" series of a Joan Harris and made a note of her date of death and > > also saw that the cause was "died in a vehicle accident on the Inyanga > > road". 3. Hi Pete, I have been following this link rather closely and noticed on your email below that you mentioned a car accident of Joan HARRIS. Did you also perhaps know of the car accident of Gloria Yvonne Richardson who also died in a car accident in 1967, Umtali with her baby daughter? I did get some info on her accident, however if you know of anything else or anyone else on this list, I would love to hear from you. She was my aunt.
