    3. Hi Russel I have found some Booysen in the registers but having a problem to find to DN's Where do I look for LW 2050 LW 4333 LW 4334 MISC 146/76 MISC 223/76 MISC 500/76 Thanks Ludwig -----Original Message----- From: south-africa-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:south-africa-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Russell Sent: 04 April 2011 07:29 AM To: south-africa@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SOUTH-AFRICA] Zimbabwe death notices Dear Jean Go to this page: https://www.familysearch.org/search/image/show#uri=https%3A//api.familysearc h.org/records/collection/1837900/waypoints Once there, click on "Death registers". The registers are arranged in volumes 1 to 88, and the by year from 1953 onwards. Reference 168/74 would be found in the appropriate 1974 section, while 38/125 would be found in Volume 38. Certain references can be confusing. For example 70/74 can be in either the year 1974 or in Volume 70. Good luck. 3. Hi Ludwig (and Russell for updating your tutorial) I had a look through some of the volumes looking for one with 472 images but only found one with 471 images. I did however find the DN for Francois Cornelius BOOYSEN which I listed earlier as having a DN record as Misc 1969. In a search of the other volumes (not alphabetical) he was listed as DRB 230/69 which I downloaded. I also downloaded the DN for Anne Jesina BOOYSEN DR 47/202 which was image 232 of volume 47. If you would like me to email you these off-list let me know For those who have followed the various threads on this Zimbawe death notice lists it seems from something I saw at the beginning of one of the volumes that the B may be records from the Bulawayo archives whereas the rest may come from the Harare archives. In the listings for the smaller centres (if you select the second link of the 2 given under Zimbabwe) there is one called "Service Personnel" which are the lists of those killed while serving with the forces (army, police, air-force etc). I am assuming that the smaller centres sent copies of their files to either Harare or Bulawayo for filing with their main records. cheers Pete Whitfield On 7 April 2011 18:07, doehne <doehne@global.co.za> wrote: > Hi Pete > > Sorry it is late but thanks for this. > > I cannot find the index that I found with the other info. > It was on page 19 of 472 images. > > Will still try when I have time. > > Regards > Ludwig > > -----Original Message----- > From: south-africa-bounces@rootsweb.com > [mailto:south-africa-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Pete Whitfield > Sent: 04 April 2011 06:58 PM > To: south-africa@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [SOUTH-AFRICA] Zimbabwe death notices > > Hi Ludwig > > If you are referring to BOOYSEN's in the Zimbabwe death notices there are > the following listed: > Anna Jesina - dr 47/202 > Barend Matthys - dr 5/257 > Daniel Johannes - d/r 76/60/26 > David Hercules - d/r 508/53 > Dirk Johannes - d/r 15/59 > Francois Cornelius - Misc 1969 > Dirk Johannes - d/r 82/174 > Gehardus Wilhelmus N. - d/r 38/59 > H.A. - d/r 85/20/2 ?? > Leonard Francis - d/r 549/58 > > listed here > > https://www.familysearch.org/search/image/show#uri=https%3A//api.familysearc > h.org/records/pal%3A/MM9.1.i/dgs%3A004638708.004638708_00182 > > < > https://www.familysearch.org/search/image/show#uri=https%3A//api.familysear > ch.org/records/pal%3A/MM9.1.i/dgs%3A004638708.004638708_00182> > cheers > > Pete Whitfield > > On 4 April 2011 17:22, doehne <doehne@global.co.za> wrote: > > > Hi Russel > > > > I have found some Booysen in the registers but having a problem to > > find to DN's > > > > Where do I look for > > LW 2050 > > LW 4333 > > LW 4334 > > > > MISC 146/76 > > MISC 223/76 > > MISC 500/76 > > > > Thanks > > > > Ludwig > > > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > SOUTH-AFRICA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > ----- > No virus found in this message. > Checked by AVG - www.avg.com > Version: 10.0.1204 / Virus Database: 1500/3544 - Release Date: 04/01/11 > > > -- > This message has been scanned for viruses and > dangerous content by Pinpoint, and is > believed to be clean. > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > SOUTH-AFRICA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >

> > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > SOUTH-AFRICA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message > ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to SOUTH-AFRICA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Hi Moyra I have no idea what that ADM stands for. Someone I messaged with recently mentioned a name of somebody on the list living in Harare so perhaps we should compile a list of queries like this for him to look into on a visit to the National Archives in Harare. I will have to search through my emails for the appropriate one unless the person involved shouts out. cheers Pete On 8 April 2011 14:16, Moyra Joyce <moyraj@r63.co.za> wrote: > Has anyone got any ideas what ADM stands for?
