Hi all, I have been studying all the old mailing list e-mails again to make sure I wasn't missing a direction. Antonio da Camara asked a question about how to go about finding a file with a registration number like one that I too was having hassles with. I don't find an answer.... From all the e-mails and replies I'd hoped to find a lead but no. So HELP! Please! I'm looking for Sydney Hurbert EMPTAGE - File .......... Misc 1967. I presume that Misc stands for miscellaneous and the year obviously is 1967 but after that I'm lost. Some time ago some-one who went to the archives did look for the file for me. The folder was unfortunately empty. I was hoping that as the file was listed in the LDS index some-one may well have found the lost 'contents' and refiled them. Thanks a million Lynn
Dear Lynn The "Misc" files are indexed in the "A-Z" file found here: https://www.familysearch.org/search/image/show#uri=https%3A//api.familysearch.org/records/waypoint/7118285 These DN's all have a "B" prefix. Once you have the reference you have to look in the "B" sections of the year indicated. Dear Russell or any other genealogical "nut" I used your fantastic information Russell and gained access to the Death Register to find the MacLeans I am looking for, now have DR references and havent a clue what to do next, please point me in the right direction...does one write somewhere or what ? I have to find them before I can go further back so its important to know who they are.
